The history of Brandt-Møller’s Boatyard
Brandt-Møller’s Boatyard was founded in 1946 by Oscar Brandt-Møller.
The ideals of the boatyard were high - only the finest workmanship joined with the very best materials.
This objective is still the foundation of Brandt-Møller’s Boatyard.
The period after World War II was very poor, but exports to both Europe and in particular to the US started as early as the 1950s.
Every third week a Nordic Folkboat left the boatyard on its way out in the world. Since the first Folkboat was built at the boatyard in 1947, over 600 Folkboats have been delivered to many countries.
Besides the ‘One Design’ boats like the Nordic Folkboat, many ‘One Off’ sailing- and motorboats have been built at the boatyard. Customers have come to the boatyard with very special wishes and these wishes have been turned into beautiful classic boats, which you can meet on the seas all over the world.
In 1980 the second generation, Per Brandt-Møller, took over from his father.
Per expanded the line of boats with a touring version of the Nordic Folkboat, called BM Family - and many older Folkboat sailors have lost their hearts to the BM Family.
In 1992 Per designed the first Diva Royal 750 Motor Launch - a beautiful and sophisticated Day-Cruiser, built to the people, who only want the very best.
Prince Henrik of Denmark bought the first of the Diva Royal 750 Motor Launches as tender to the Royal Yacht ‘Dannebrog’.
Later on came Diva Royal 700 and Diva Royal 800 - especially the Diva Royal 700 is very popular as a tender to Super Yachts.
Third generation, Thomas Brandt-Møller, was educated in 1992 and one of Thomas’ many tasks is to tend to the exhibition of the Diva Royal Motor Launches outside Denmark.
Since the line of Diva Royal Motor Launches, the Christianshavner-Jollen was designed, an exclusive ‘Picnic-Boat’, especially made for the small canals of Copenhagen and with space for 16 people.
The latest initiative from Brandt-Møller’s Boatyard is the houseboat ‘Houseboat-2-move’.
‘Houseboat-2-move’ is designed for ‘landlubbers’ and sailors, young and old, who would like to live on the water.
Besides new buildings Brandt-Møller’s Boatyard offers our customers repair, restoration and winter storage for their boats – inside or outside. We got our own marina with slip and crane.
