BM Family
The BM Family is a tour version of the Nordic Folkboat - with more space inside, inboard diesel engine and mast and boom of aluminium - a classic and beautiful tour version of the Nordic Folkboat - with the good sailing qualities of the Folkboat.
The BM Family has exactly the same hull as the Nordic Folkboat - either made of GRP or wood.
The deck and cabin are traditional handwork with the deck built of beams and marine plywood, covered with GRP or Teak.
The cabin and cockpit are made of mahogany, which are varnished with strong 2-component varnish of long durability.
Compared to the Nordic Folkboat the cockpit has been moved ½ meter astern - and it is self-bailing.
The cabin is ½ m longer and 8 cm higher - this provides ample space inside the cabin.
The accommodation in the cabin is of mahogany and the floor of teak. At the entrance is the pantry with cooker and stowage for kitchen things at the backboard side - at the starboard side is water basin with water pump, stowage for kitchen things and the possibility of mounting a box with a refrigerator system.
The BM Family has 2 long berths and 1 long bunk in front, which provides ample space for 4 adults.
BM Family has a 9 or 10 Hp diesel engine as standard and a fuel tank for 25 l diesel.
The mast is placed on the cabin roof and both mast and boom are made of aluminium - and all sheets and lines are led to the cockpit, so the boat is easy to sail - also single-handed.
